Fun facts: The registration cost for the very first New York Marathon was just $1. Today the registration fee for the largest (and the most popular) marathon in the world is up to $360 (around $300 for US residants and around $360 for non-residants).
BOSTON

Fun facts: the first Boston marathon was ran in 1897 and was 24,8 miles (the race was lengthened to 26.2 miles in 1924). the winner was John J. McDermott of New York with a time 2:55:10. There were 18 entrants, 15 startes and 10 finishers.
